Edith Mirante – Author & Activist
Edith Mirante is an author with a passion for human rights and environmental issues. She has travelled widely in Asia, and has investigated atrocities and resistance in remote corners of Burma’s frontier conflicts. Edith founded Project Maje in 1986 to focus on human rights & environmental issues in Burma.

Mir Ahmed Siddique – Activist
Mir Ahmed Siddique is a Bangladeshi human rights activist based in Saudi Arabia. His video of Burmese security forces kicking and abusing Rohingya villagers rapidly went viral and brought forth a rare admission of culpability by the Burmese authorities.

Shabnam Mayet – Lawyer & Activist
Shabnam Mayet is a South African Advocate, based at the Johannesburg Bar. Her professional experience covers a range of legal matters. She advises both organisations and individuals on international human rights related issues. As co-founder of Protect the Rohingya, she is often invited by the media to provide comment or write articles about the Rohingya genocide in Myanmar.

Ziaur Rahman – Activist
Ziaur Rahman, born in Buthidaung, is a 26-year-old activist who is well known in the Malaysian context. He is currently busy finishing his autobiographical manuscript, the working title of which is “Survivor: A Rohingya’s Journey”
